JJ Systems Phone Migration

Looking after our clients in Kent we hope that this guide will assist you in setting up the new JJ systems phone platform before you proceed please make sure you have your welcome email from 3CX. This should come from noreply@3cx.net This will contain all the important information allowing you to set up your Web Client, Windows App and Mobile app please keep this somewhere safe. Please have this open alongside this Web Page and follow the steps carefully! As always JJ Systems your preferred Kent IT services provider, is here to assist you if you have any issues. When do we need to do this?

The team at JJ Systems will inform your business when you are ready to upgrade, the 3CX phone system will already be configured all you will need to do is download the applications and factory reset your handset following the instructions below.

Section 1 – How to login to the portal

Step 1

When you are set up on the 3CX phone system, you will receive a welcome email with the key details you will need to log in and start working. This will include:

Your Extension Number
Your Pin Code
Your Password
Website URL to download the apps

Please do not share your PIN or Password with anyone!

If you’ve not received it please do remember to check your Mailguard in case it is caught in spam!

To install the desktop app, first log into the portal detailed in section 1.

Step 2

To get started, go to the website URL in your favourite browser. We recommend using Chrome, but any modern browser should work (This does not include internet explorer!)

If you want to install Chrome just give us a call in 01227 371375 and our engineers will be happy to assist!

Step 3

Finally, log in with your Extension Number and Password. You’re now ready to start installing and configuring the Apps, plugins and desk phone!

Once logged in the screen will show as below.

Section 2 – How to Install app on your PC

Step 1

To install the desktop app, first log into the website portal using the link detailed in section 1.

In the bottom-left corner of the webpage there is an “Apps” button, click this to access the apps download page.

Step 2

Click on the Desktop App Icon. Depending on your browser, either a file will download or and save to your downloads folder, or download and run automatically. The file you are looking for is something like 3CXDesktopApp-18.9.933.msi .

Keep the browser window open, and on the “Install Desktop App” page, you will need it again in a minute.

When you have located the file, run the installer.

Step 3

Once installed, go back to the browser window and click on “Provision”. This should automatically configure your desktop app with your companies’ phone tenant. You will be able to see all extensions and availability, contacts, calls and more!

The Desktop App looks the same as the Web App.

Step 4

You can also make calls directly from the app, but be warned, you must have a connected microphone or active headset before trying!

Use the drop down to choose the device you want to dial from.

Section 3 – Set up Desktop Dialer

Step 1

To install the chrome extension, first log into the portal detailed in section 1, however you must be using Chrome for this extension and have the desktop app installed in section 2 to correctly operate

In the bottom-left corner of the webpage there is an “Apps” button, click this to access the apps download page.

Step 2

Click on the Chrome Browser Extension. This will open up and new window in your browser where you can install the plugin.

In this new window, click on the “add to chrome” blue button on the page.

Step 3

It should only take a moment to install and once completed you will see the 3CX Click2Call app popup open. Ensure you have the “Desktop App” selected, then close the window

Step 4

From now on, whenever using Chrome, if the app detects a valid phone number on the page it will be underlined and clickable. Clicking any of these numbers will first pop up the “Make a call from” feature. Selecting “3CX Desktop App” will push the number to the desktop app.

Step 5

Finally, pressing the Green call button will make your preferred device call the number!

To change the dialing device, select from the dropdown within the dialer interface.

If chrome tries to open up using anything other than 3cx (such as skype), contact support.

Section 4 – Re-set Desktop Phone (Snom D720 or D725)

Step 1

Before you start, make sure you have your Extension and Pin from section 1 ready. You will need these in the last step of the setup.

On the phone, first press **#, then both press and hold # to start the reboot and recovery process. This could take some time so be ready to hold the button for several seconds. WAIT for the next screen to pop up.

Step 2

If everything does well, you will see the Rescue mode screen. You can now release the # button.

You have 2 options from here, press option 1, settings reset. This will reset the phone and will again take several seconds before you can continue. You MUST wait.

Step 3

During the restart you may briefly see a language screen, *Do not press anything* here!

Step 4

Eventually you will reach the HTTP Login user screen, this is where you add your extension number.

Following this you will see the HTTP Login pw screen. You will need your pin number for this.

This will take time to restart and set up, please wait and do not touch any buttons.

Section 5 – Set up mobile app

Step 1

This is an optional step if you have a work mobile and would like the App installed.

Go to the App Store you mobile phone. This could be Google Play for Android or App Store for iphones.

In the search, type in 3CX. You should see something like the above.

Step 2

Once installed, open the app. You should get the welcome message, followed by the option to scan a QR code.

Step 3

Log into the portal detailed in section 1. In the top right, click on the QR code icon. This will bring up the QR code window pictured in the previous step.

Scan the QR code in that window.

Step 4

With the app open, scan the code. If your Name is displaying in the app, click continue. Allow the Microphone and calls features and you’re done!

When Installed it will look like the image above and all link together.
