COVID-19 Regular Updates

Today we have woken up to a whole new situation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our Business Continuity
I was thinking it seems like a long time ago that I was updating our Business Continuity Plan. Mostly with our latest discussions around the possibility of a worldwide pandemic. It was in fact just over a month ago.
Of course, we already had a plan in place, but it needed some refinement, after all – I never thought I would have to consider this as an option. Suddenly we were planning levels of action, including splitting staff across offices, in our Level Two. Level three requires moving the all to home working remotely, with numerous other bullet points on each level which I needed to bring into the daily life at the office during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Working From Home
The considerations of effective communication between ourselves and our clients has never been in doubt for me. Our ability to work from home has never been in doubt, after all, its what we do – IT, but the reality seemed to a little more like I was in a movie script.
A Week Later
A week later, writing to clients to suggest they consider their home working options, the situation seemed even more surreal.
Three Weeks Later
Almost three weeks further on, we were of course busier than we could imagine sourcing notebooks and ensuring that clients remain as safe as possible with home working solutions.
Support Desk
Our dedicated team on our Support Desk have been keeping up with the numerous calls concerning remote connectivity, VPN configuration, connectivity issues and much more. They are all well practised with the Support Desk and able to give detailed advice. Assisting with remote access to machines, helping users understand the issue they are experiencing and solving their problems.
Call Volumes
Then yesterday morning we were experiencing larger call volumes than normal as business owners and their staff are working through teething issues as they find a way to work effectively at home.
The PM’s Announcement
Who knows what today will bring after last night’s announcement, which if I am honest I had expected, but not until the end of the week at the earliest.

Ill send regular blogs to our clients giving a bit of a personal view on the current on-going issues with as they develop – along with our own take on how we are coping with COVID-19.
