The Total For The Whole Event
A warm thank you to all who came!
Ive had some time to count the money, writing to the kind businesses and friends who donated raffle prizes to the Galadance 2018.
So now its time for a little blog update on the final total raised. All for the Alzheimer’s Society on the evening and afterwards with some donations.
The total, is an indication of the level of generosity of those who kindly donated a prize to the event. The entertainers and the venue who all helped me, which of course is why I am writing this article – to give everyone my very heartfelt thanks.
- The raffle prize listing was amazing & that alone raised £2170 on the night.
- The bottle lottery, which is always fun, raised £1360.
- The photography raised £51.50.
- Donations totalled £260.
Along with the ticket sales the final value is £7500.00. Beating the total from the first Galadance I organised two years ago.
I’ve had so many really wonderful remarks from guests who came along. The fact they had such fun & they raised so much money was marvellous. Testimony to their generosity when buying the raffle tickets.
To all the supporters –
The Cathedral Lodge were incredibly supportive, with their staff being so helpful. Giving me an amazing venue to work with, decorated by Tamara from ‘That Extra Special Touch’, along with the entertainers, Marc Lemezma, Jason Allen Sway & Burstband. All contributed to providing the guests with a friendly and fun evening. Brought together with an atmosphere from the special venue and collective desire to raise money for this cause.
Honestly, though it is a lot of work, I’m chuffed – all I want to do is make a difference and both guests and sponsors have helped me achieve that.
The Alzheimer’s Society have the final figure & will be organising a press release in the coming few weeks, but this is a personal thank you to everyone.
You can see some photos of the evening on the Galadance Facebook Page including the lovely ‘Selfies’ taken by the guests in the reception.
The night was on the eve of the Centenary of the signing of the 1918 Armistice, marking the end of the First World War – the War Horse on its bed of Poppies was a beautiful, but poignant sight when we were setting up the venue.
